For Geometry of Fashion, I was tasked with created 3 shape inspired garments. I chose the shapes: triangle, rectangle, and square. Each garment is made of entirely repurposed or otherwise recycled materials.
I expressed a triangular shape with the corset inspired top by designing the garment with mesh darker mesh side panels to create the illusion of a triangle. The padding within the garment is all the scraps and off cuts produced while creating it, effectively making the garment a zero waste garment.
The patchwork square dress expands out to a large square quilt and is wearable in a multitude of ways depending on how the wearer chooses to adjust the ties and channels built into the quilt.
The pleated rectangle garment is created entirely of rectangles and was my first foray into sewing garments.
